Deine Rolle im Team
- As an Advanced Technology Architect in our Women's Health Ultrasound segment, you will be the technical leader shaping next-generation imaging solutions for Voluson scanners.
- Your innovations will elevate clinical standards and advance our vision: "Building a world where healthcare has no limits."
- You will guide the design, development, and integration of complex ultrasound systems - spanning hardware, software, signal processing, and clinical applications.
- You will leverage deep expertise in medical ultrasound imaging and strong ties to the research community.
- Your work will drive breakthroughs in B Mode and Flow algorithms, translating clinical insights into impactful software solutions.
- You will be part of the Advanced Technology and Innovation team within the global Voluson engineering team, based in Zipf, Austria.
- Lead early-stage product development: feasibility studies, simulations, and algorithm design for tissue imaging (B Mode, M Mode) and flow measurement (PW, CFM, PD, Vector Doppler, Microvascular).
- Mentor a team of specialized experts and drive technical excellence across the engineering organization.
- Set technical direction for imaging and flow pipelines (from single channel to display), owning architecture, image quality strategy, performance targets, and risk posture across releases.
- Partner with systems engineering, clinical product management, and internal/external academic and industrial R&D teams.
- Guide development of architecture and specifications for next-generation ultrasound systems.
- Evaluate emerging research for clinical relevance and implementation feasibility; shape long-term R&D strategy.
- Generate patents, assess third-party technologies, and guide make/buy decisions.
- Define and drive technology partnerships and academic collaborations.
Unsere Erwartungen an dich
Ausbildung
- Advanced degree in electrical engineering, technical physics or a related field, with preference to candidates holding a PhD in the field of medical ultrasound imaging and several years in medical ultrasound imaging after doctorate.
Qualifikationen
- Strong coding skills: production-grade C++ and GPU code (CUDA/OpenCL/DirectX), plus MATLAB/Python for prototyping.
- Track record of leading complex real-time systems to release (architecture ownership, performance optimization, and cross-functional alignment).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence and drive innovation in a dynamic team environment.
Erfahrung
- Deep experience and proven track record of innovation in ultrasound beamforming, B-mode processing pipelines, the physics of ultrasound, and flow modes (PW, CFM, PD, Vector Doppler, Microvascular).
- Experience working within medical-device QMS (design controls, verification/validation, documentation discipline).
