- As part of our Quantum Pilot Line, we are developing an integrated platform for quantum information processing.
- We are looking for a motivated digital ASIC/MPSoC designer to help develop the next generation of quantum system-on-chip solutions.
- As a Scientist, you will take on complex research tasks with significant autonomy.
- You will drive projects independently, contribute to the unit’s growth, and build a focused, internationally visible research profile.

- Drive innovation in analog/mixed-signal (AMS) IC design for quantum applications.
- Design and layout of analog building blocks (e.g., LDOs, bandgaps, DACs, ADCs) including verification, testing, and characterization.
- Perform hands-on lab measurements using equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers.
- Lead and contribute to research projects, including publishing high-quality scientific papers or patents.
- Represent SAL at international conferences and expand the scientific network.
- Project management and acquisition in collaboration with scientific and industrial partners.
- Supervise and mentor students, interns, and junior team members.
- Support knowledge transfer through training and internal collaboration.
- Ensure successful project execution with a focus on customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
Unsere Erwartungen an dich
Ausbildung
- A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.
Qualifikationen
- Knowledge about analog design circuits such as ADC and DAC.
- Strong knowledge about analog circuits like amplifiers, LDO, bandgap, current sources.
- Programming skills with Python, HDL (Verilog or VHDL).
- HDL coding for ASIC integration is a plus.
- Autonomous, with self-initiative (research oriented), well organized and enjoying working in a dynamic and multicultural team.
- Professional communication skills in English, command of German language is a plus.
- Willingness to relocate to Villach, Austria.
Erfahrung
- At least 3-5 years experience with schematic and layout circuit design tools.
- Hands-on experience with FPGA design.

- For this position we offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications, starting with a minimum gross salary of EUR 61.000 (annual, based on an All-in contract).
