Deine Rolle im Team
- Excellent research needs state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and innovative digital services.
- With a team of about 50 experts, we will redesign the institute's digital landscape over the next few years and implement an ambitious digital transformation programme to facilitate the Institute's rapid growth.
- You will be part of the IT infrastructure team, which designs, plans, builds and carefully looks after the on-premises networks and systems.
- You will be one of the go-to specialists when it comes to network administration.
- As you will work in a dynamic environment, developing and providing new services for our campus users will also be a big part of this position.
- Participate in design, deployment, maintenance and upgrade of the Institute's network infrastructure (switches, routers, wireless access points, fiber optic & copper circuits).
- Configure, test and deploy new network/security equipment.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd-level network support.
- Identify, troubleshoot and solve software and hardware network outages.
- Implement and maintain scripts for the automated management of the network.
- Document configuration and network infrastructure setup.
Unsere Erwartungen an dich
Ausbildung
- IT education, ideally with focus on network or equivalent work experience.
Qualifikationen
- Knowledge in the fields of network security, VPN and firewalls.
- Basic understanding of IP routing protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF.
- Eager to learn new technologies and the flexibility to develop in a changing environment.
- Reliable team-player with good communication skills.
- Working language is English, good working knowledge in German is an advantage.
Erfahrung
- Work experience with Cisco networking equipment (switches, routers).
- Experience with scripting (e.g. shell, Perl, python) and automation tools (e.g. Ansible, terraform, puppet).
- Some experience with container technologies and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
